We provide care for children from 6 weeks through 12 years of age in a nurturing and engaging environment! Our curriculum is guided by the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), ensuring each child's social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and creative development is supported through meaningful, play-based learning experiences. Through daily routines, hands-on activities, and individualized support, we partner with families to help every child reach important developmental milestones and confidently transition through each stage of learning. Bee-low, you'll find a closer look at each age group we offer, including developmental goals, typical daily schedules, and how we support children every step of the way as they grow!

Buzzing Through Every Stage

Infants

6 weeks - 12 months

Throughout the day infants engage in tummy time, sensory play, music, and one-on-one interaction to support milestones such as head control, rolling, sitting, crawling and early standing. To best support each infant’s individual needs, we ask parents to provide their own daily schedules for feedings and naps, and our classroom routines are guided by those schedules to ensure consistency and comfort between home and care.

Ones

12 months -18 months

Children in our one-year-old program are encouraged to build independence through self-feeding, early walking skills, and developing a consistent routine that includes transitioning to one nap per day and gradually weaning from bottles. Throughout the day, children are supported as they explore their environment through hands-on play, sensory activities, music, books, and social interaction with peers, helping them strengthen communication, coordination, and confidence as they grow.

Preschool

32 months - 5 years

Children are transitioned into our preschool program based on developmental readiness and available space within the program. In this stage, children continue strengthening and mastering important self-help skills, including independence, communications and routines. Our preschool program includes two classrooms: one designed for younger preschoolers who are building foundational skills, and another focused on advanced learning and kindergarten readiness. This structure allows us to meet each child where they are and prepare them for their next educational step with confidence.

Toddlers

18 months-36 months

Throughout the day infants engage in tummy time, sensory play, music, and one-on-one interaction to support milestones such as head control, rolling, sitting, crawling and early standing. To best support each infant’s individual needs, we ask parents to provide their own daily schedules for feedings and naps, and our classroom routines are guided by those schedules to ensure consistency and comfort between home and care.

School Age

5 years-12 years

Our school-age program offers before and after school care throughout the academic year. During the summer months, we offer a fun-filled summer program designed to keep children active, engaged and learning through hands-on activities, outdoor play and weekly field trips.

Across all classrooms, our daily routines are designed to provide structure, consistency and meaningful learning experiences throughout the day. While each age group follows a schedule tailored to their developmental stage, all children participate in a balance of core activities including circle time, art, outdoor play, literacy, music and movement, meals and rest.

As children grow, the expectations and skill levels within each activity are adjusted to meet their individual developmental needs. Although the activities may look slightly different by age, our approach remains the same across every classroom: to provide a nurturing, engaging environment where children learn through play, build independence, and grow at their own pace.

Growing Through the Hive

Transitions between classrooms are approached thoughtfully and was always in partnership with families. We first consider each child’s age, developmental readiness, and overall comfort level. When our educators feel a child may be ready for the next step, we communicate closely with parents to discuss the transition together. If it is a good fit for both the family and the child, we begin the process gradually by introducing short visits to the next classroom rather than moving all at once, helping each child adjust at a comfortable pace.

Our classroom layout also supports smooth transitions between age groups. Many of the next classrooms are located nearby or directly adjacent so children in each classroom are able to see and hear familiar teachers and peers throughout the day. This natural exposure helps build comfort, confidence and familiarity, making the transition feel more seamless and secure as they move into their next learning environment.
